The quality policy is based on the principle of institutional autonomy with external accountability. The Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education (QAA) is the independent main body responsible for ensuring academic quality in higher education in the United Kingdom.
Its primary role: It aims to ensure that British qualifications (such as bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees) maintain high and consistent academic standards across the UK.  Review processes: Periodic and independent assessment reviews are conducted for each university, issuing detailed reports on their compliance with standards. The UK Quality Code is the main reference framework used by institutions and the QAA to ensure standards and quality. Its function: It provides fundamental guidelines and core standards.
